Making it personal…

Last weekend Richmond Daddy, Baby, and I went to the annual Richmond Fair down on the green, where we enjoyed the thrills and spills of an old-fashioned fun fair and I pigged out on muchos candyfloss (exhibit a = evidence).  Much fun.

Exhibit A (candyfloss: an essential part of any post pregnancy diet)

Never one to miss out on a shopping opportunity, I was delighted to discover lots of local small businesses were there selling gorgeous handmade wares from cakes and cards to crockery.  One discovery I wanted to share is a super-cute company called Sweet Dimple, who specialise in contemporary, bespoke products and personalised framed artworks.  Each artwork is made up of retro components that are handpicked and meticulously upcycled into unique designs.  See their website to view the range at:  www.sweetdimple.co.uk
I was particularly taken with their The Big Apple design, which is made using over 45 buttons sourced from a vintage collection.  What’s lovely is that you can have the picture personalised, so I have one on order for Richmond Baby that will feature her name and date of birth under the apple.  It’ll look adorable hanging in the nursery.

Sweet Dimple's The Big Apple design, which you can have personalised

As well as being great for ‘new baby’ gifts (for yourself or others) they also have some beautiful designs for other occasions such as weddings and christenings, or if you’re looking for Father’s Day inspiration then look no further because they also have some cute artworks especially for Dad.

The lovely Sally McArthur who runs Sweet Dimple is kindly offering £10 off all orders plus free postage and packaging, until the end of May 2011, to anyone who places an order direct and mentions Richmond Mummy.  So, get gifting, and make it personal!

  1. It’s such an inspiration when small business are able to sell their wares. Really good for local trade and there should be something like this happening everywhere in the UK, on a regular basis.
