{The Ordinary Moments}

A week ago, I had the pleasure of looking after my friend’s gorgeous toddler for the afternoon and he and Allegra had a LOT of fun playing together and getting up to mischief. We took ourselves off to Richmond Green for a run around in the leaves and it was a beautiful crisp, sunshiny, autumn day – the perfect setting for burning off some toddler energy!

There was fun to be had collecting leaves, kicking through the leaves, running and hiding around the trees, chasing each other across the Green, spinning around together singing Ring-a-Ring-a-Rosie, and giggles… lots and lots and lots of giggles!  In fact, there was so much giggling I think they may have given themselves hiccups at one point!

After all that fun in the fresh air, the two of them had a much needed sit-down in the double buggy and enjoyed a little snack as we headed down towards the river to feed the ducks.  Each clutching their bag of bread, they could have been mistaken for brother and sister and I got a glimpse into what life might have been like if I had toddler twins!!

Thankfully I had my mum in tow to share the responsibility of entertaining two two-and-a-half year olds and a very-much-on-the-move baby!  But we had a lovely day all together, out in the fresh air, then back home to paint our leaves and create tree pictures (the toddlers did this for about 4 minutes before losing interest and wandering off in the other direction from the painting table!).

A very ordinary day, but once full of laughter and memory making.

I’m linking this up to Mummy, Daddy, & Me’s weekly linky, you can pop on over there to check out other {The Ordinary Moments} from this week.

  1. Aw this is beautiful, they look like they are having such fun. And I love all the autumn leaves on the ground. I love that the age they are at now, means they are interacting more and more with their friends. x

    • Seeing her playing with her friends is just the cutest, she has a little gaggle of girlfriends at nursery and they are adorable all together playing – well sometimes playing, sometimes strangling each other!! It really is a lovely age 🙂 x

I love comments, so make my day!
